I have provided therapeutic services at the following locations: The University of Pennsylvania’s Counseling and Psychological Services, CORA Services, The University of Pennsylvania’s Treatment Research Center for Addiction, and a private group practice in Philadelphia.  My areas of clinical specialties in treating adults include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • PTSD/Trauma
  • Grief and loss
  • Parenting skills
  • Family and interpersonal conflicts
  • Life transitions (such as new to parenthood, divorce, marriage, and career/academic changes).

Treatment Modalities

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): An evidence -based treatment that aims to challenge and change unhelpful thinking and behavioral patterns. CBT is highly efficacious in treating a variety of disorders including depression and anxiety.
  • EMDR  (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an integrative therapeutic technique that has been extensively researched and proven to be an effective treatment for both past and recent traumatic experiences. EMDR can also be used to resolve other problems related to disturbing past experiences, such as anxiety, shame, depression, and self-defeating behavioral patterns and beliefs.
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT):  An evidence based, manualized treatment that significantly alleviates or eliminates symptoms of PTSD.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT):  Reinforces the importance of values, acceptance and mindfulness in order to overcome obstacles.
  • Mindfulness: Skills to become attuned to the mind and body in the present moment, without judgment. Practicing mindfulness also improves self-regulation and reduces insomnia and depression.

At the start of therapy we will discuss your particular needs and establish a treatment plan that addresses your goals and what you would like to gain from therapy. Typically, sessions occur once weekly. As you reach your goals, we will assess together what frequency of sessions will sustain your progress.
